Hello, hello — and I’m here with a sneaky midweek post, because today we’re diving into the ultimate Father’s Day gift guide. Whether he’s the foodie, the car lover, the garden potterer, or just notoriously hard to buy for (hi Dad 👋), I’ve rounded up a mix of gifts to suit all tastes — and yes, they’re all wonderfully thoughtful without being wildly over budget.
We’re skipping fashion for this one — even though Dad fashion is having a bit of a moment, this list is all about gifts that work for dads (and grandads!) of all ages, whether they’re into gadgets, grub, or a good Sunday polish on the car.
Let’s dive in, shall we?
A Classic Choice:
Is it even Father’s Day without the mention of a mug? They’ve been the go-to gift for years, haven’t they? From “No.1 Dad” to “World’s Best Dad”, most of them eventually make their way to the back of the cupboard, somewhere between the novelty Christmas mugs and the chipped “World’s Best Boss” one from 2007. So how do we avoid gifting yet another dusty cliché? Easy — buy them an Emma Bridgewater mug, of course.

There are a few lovely options this year. The first is a green and white monogram design simply marked Dad. It’s subtle, smart, and at £25.00, it doesn’t scream Dad Mug in big block letters, which I actually think makes it even more charming. Then there’s the Fab Dad mug, decorated with little sponge-print Fab ice lollies. Also £25.00, and honestly, it’s just fun — it feels nostalgic without being tacky. Lastly, for the dads of little ones (especially those with Peppa Pig on repeat), there’s the Daddy mug from the Peppa Pig collection. It’s sweet, familiar, and even better, the seconds version is available for £20.00 — a thoughtful and budget-friendly option if your toddler insists on giving Daddy something “Peppa”.

For the Car:
Now, if your dad — or partner, if you’re buying on behalf of the kids — is anything like mine, and treats his car better than most houseplants, then you can’t go wrong with Autoglym. It holds a royal warrant for good reason, and my dad has sworn by it for as long as I can remember. They’ve got plenty of cleaning kits, but the exterior wash and wax kit remains a fan favourite. It’ll have the car gleaming in no time, and let’s face it, they love nothing more than pottering about with a sponge and a hose on a Sunday morning - I often pop for a cuppa just to get my car washed.

or the inside of the car, luxury air fresheners have seriously stepped up — we’re not talking about little magic trees here. The White Company has a lovely car diffuser set for £20.00, complete with two refill chips, and it adds a clean, calming scent that feels a little bit luxe. If you’re feeling particularly generous, Diptyque also does an incredibly bougie version — definitely one for the fancy dads, and a real treat.

Say it with FOOD:
Food gifts are always a safe bet for the hard-to-buy-for dads. They’re thoughtful, they’re useful, and let’s be honest, who doesn’t love a snack? Fortnum & Mason has a fabulous Pork Pie & Piccalilli hamper for just £14.95. It’s practical but playful, with the word “Dad” written in pastry on top — which is such a sweet touch. If you’re hosting a bigger get-together, they also offer a 1.3kg pork pie with “No.1 Dad” on top for £39.95 — an impressive centrepiece that’ll definitely go down well with a pint. For something on the sweeter side, they’ve also released a set of classic car-shaped biscuits — a cute nod to the car-obsessed dads and perfect with their mid-morning brew.
If you’re in or around Yorkshire, then you’ll already know about Bettys Tea Room and their iconic Fat Rascals. For Father’s Day, they’ve put together a Family Rascals gift box, which is ideal for popping round with a card and a cuppa. It’s a little taste of tradition, and a nice excuse to sit down and have a proper natter.

For the chocolate lovers, Cadbury’s Father’s Day Selection Box is a brilliant option at £22.00. It includes all the favourites, plus a special edition Dairy Milk bar that says “Happy Father’s Day” on the front. And if your dad leans more gourmet than nostalgic, Charbonnel & Walker has a stunning James Bond-themed chocolate selection that’s equal parts luxe and delicious — perfect for the dad who’s more 007 than Dairy Milk Buttons.
John Lewis also has a great Beers & Snacks gift box that’s ideal for those dads who want to put their feet up and enjoy a lager or two from the comfort of their favourite chair. It’s a simple pleasure — beer in hand, snacks on the go, sport on telly — and sometimes that’s all they really want.

Little Luxuries:
And now for the dads who enjoy a little pampering (we love a high-maintenance moment): if your dad is a bit of a diva — in the best way — Le Labo’s after-shave balm is a brilliant little luxury. It smells amazing, soothes post-shave redness, and at £28.80 from Cult Beauty, it’s indulgent but not bank-breaking.

If you’re after something personalised, Not On The High Street is always a go-to. I love their leather luggage tags, starting at £15.00, which can be monogrammed with initials for that extra special touch. It’s great if your dad travels often or just likes his bits and bobs to feel a bit more “put together”. I also spotted a rope bracelet with an anchor fastening (starting at £33.99) which you can personalise too. And if anchors aren’t his thing (pun very much intended), they’ve got loads of other styles to suit all kinds of dads.

For the Garden:
For the green-fingered grandads and dads, garden gifts are always a great way to go. Harkness Roses has a beautiful deep red rose called ‘Special Dad’, currently priced at £19.99. It’s a perfect tribute for a blooming lovely dad — long-lasting, meaningful, and guaranteed to brighten up any flower bed.

Gardening heritage brand Burgon & Ball has recently collaborated with Sophie Conran to create a lovely range of gardening essentials. My favourite from the collection is this rather charming tin trug — ideal for carrying tools, twine, and bits and bobs on busy gardening days. It’s practical, stylish, and makes even the weeding look good.
Along a similar vein, Amazon has a fantastic waxed canvas tool bag, packed with compartments and pockets to hold everything from secateurs to string. It’s priced at just £26.58, which is incredibly reasonable — especially when you consider that similar versions elsewhere can go for £60 or more. Plus, it’s available on Prime, so if you’re a last-minute panic buyer (we’ve all been there), it’ll arrive just in time to save the day.
